Same benefits.
New name.
Enhanced experience.
MiCatholic Benefits is the official employee benefits program of Michigan Catholic Conference.
The suite of benefit programs offered to eligible lay, clergy and religious employees of the Catholic Church in Michigan has been rebranded as MiCatholic Benefits. The same benefits package and customer support you expect—now with a name that better reflects MCC’s mission and who we serve.
As part of the rebrand, the online benefits site known as Employee Self Serve (ESS) has been retired and rebranded as the MiCatholic Benefits portal. The upgraded MiCatholic Benefits portal features an improved look and feel and additional open enrollment tools, without any changes to the benefit coverage or support you rely on.
Your employee benefits are not changing. The MiCatholic Benefits portal provides additional enrollment tools and better supports your online benefit experience.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are my benefits or other insurance coverage changing?
No. Your benefit coverage is not changing. MCC is rebranding Employee Self-Serve (ESS) as MiCatholic Benefits with an upgraded web portal to better support employees’ experience and to reflect our mission to serve.
Do I need to do anything after the new MiCatholic Benefits portal replaces ESS?
Yes, one small thing after the new portal launches. When you access the new MiCatholic Benefits portal for the first time, click “Register” on the right side of the page, enter your information, and create a new password. That’s it.
Why did MCC rebrand its benefits program as MiCatholic Benefits?
MCC rebranded its Employee Benefit Program as MiCatholic Benefits to reinforce our mission to serve Catholic employees, units and dioceses in Michigan with benefits administration, and to more clearly align the benefits program with our Catholic identity.
Is there a new website address for the MiCatholic Benefits portal?
The web address for the new portal is micatholicbenefits.org.
Did MCC inform employees about MiCatholic Benefits and the new portal?
Employees received a series of communications in their email and at their home. Two mailings, a postcard and then a letter, were sent via USPS describing the MiCatholic Benefits rebrand and that Employee Self-Serve (ESS) is being retired and renamed the MiCatholic Benefits portal. Employees also received an email before the site went down for the upgrade, and another when the new site was live. Additional information will be shared leading up to and during the fall open enrollment period.
