Hemker will be responsible for handling abortion, social welfare and criminal justice related issues on behalf of the MCC. In addition, she will be responsible for staffing the Social Policy Committee of the Conference. Hemker replaces Sally Whalen, who retired on June 30 after 18 years of service to the Conference.
